Dining Transformation

I finally finished our dining area, I can't call it a room because it's not but it is it's own little area which is nice. I'm so in love with it. And sorry, I was apparently struggling with my camera, all the photos look a little off to me. Oh well, you win some you lose some.

I was worried it would be like WOAH here I am, but it's not. I think it looks great and is just enough color. Especially since our walls are so neutral.

I switched out those DIY canvases for this mirror I spray painted white, makes the space feel much bigger!

View from the sink. There I am!

And so you can see the color with the chairs close up. I love the chairs so much better in
person than in pictures.

And if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I just inherited my grandma and grandpa's bedroom set. So I have projects to last me the next 3 years at the pace I go. But I'm okay with that.

I'm obsessed with the blog Young House Love and essentially just followed their tips when it comes to painting. And I read this blog too for laminate painting tips. I also found on pinterest from this blog to add Floetrel to your paint to help reduce brush strokes. Now since this table was laminate on top, I can't really tell how well that worked. It still isn't perfect. But the legs were solid wood and I think they look awesome. So for my future solid wood projects, I have high hopes!

Bear Lake

Well it's now a new weekend, but last weekend I went up to Bear Lake with the fam for Baby Mallory's blessing. Mark stayed home and got to study all weekend, yay!

It was a short but sweet trip. I drove up after work on Friday with my dad and cousin, Lindsay. Then we hung out Saturday, mostly swam, and Sunday went to the blessing and then left immediately after to drive home for my grandma's funeral. Quick turnaround and a busy weekend. We still had fun though!

Wagner Family Pics

So the knight party was 2 weekend ago and almost everyone on our Arnett side was here (just minus Cam - sorry Cam), and this past weekend we had all the Wagner's in town. So we have had lots of family time, which is our favorite. Naturally, family pictures were taken. These were taken by FotoFly Studio (?) at Thanksgiving Point. If I do say so myself, I think we look pretty dang good.

Knight Party

I gotta say, my sisters, my mom and I know how to throw a heck of a party for a 4 year old.

My sister Devry, was flying in the night before said party for Asher's 4th birthday, so we all had our assignments to put this party together. Obviously, I was in charge of banners/decorations. Sure we go a little (a lot?) overboard but I just love it!

I have tons of cute photos of all the kids, but they are apparently not on my computer so this instagram will have to do for now of the birthday boy!

What a fun party!

3 Years

I never miss an opportunity to post a wedding photo. I still love glancing through these all the time.

Mark and I celebrate our 3 year anniversary today! This past year has been wonderful. Mark worked his butt off to get into dental school. And I have continued to watch as he works his butt of even more in school. I'm so proud of his dedication and hard work, and grateful that I married this man.

Spring Break

Oh where have I been you ask? Nowhere. Just home alone while Mark was in sunny AZ.

Mark had a mini spring break so he and my dad drove down to Arizona to hang out with my brother and fam and of course catch some spring training baseball games. If you can't tell from the pictures they had tons of fun!

The boys did some projects around the house (I hear there were multiple, multiple trips to Home Depot - more than 10?) went to some games, played some Mario and just lived the life. Yes, I'm jealous.

All of these pis were stolen from FB from Mark, Cam and Ashley.

And if you want to know what I was up to while I was all by my lonesome, here's a quick shot of our garage where I spent most of my time.

While I should be a lot closer to being finished, I couldn't move the heavy part of the table by myself so it remains completely untouched.

Brownstone Secrets

I was reading yet another article on the Internet about fake buildings hiding city mysteries and came across something I thought was funny. The article itself is pretty interesting if you want to give it a read. But there is a fake townhouse in Brooklyn (above pic from the article of said house) that is hiding an emergency exit to the subway. The article says the inside of the home is just cement inside and somehow also allows for ventilation or something.

A look inside through a crack in the door.

Anyway, I read this article probably 4 of 5 days ago and I thought it was interesting but didn't think too much of it after that. Then yesterday I was bored so I went and read all my New York posts because I like to relive that trip frequently and came across almost the exact same pic from our day in Spot Conlon territory (newsies reference). Look for yourself. Below is the photo I took.

I mean what are the odds? Looking at it now, it's like well duh the windows are blacked out, but I don't think I ever noticed that until reading the article. That's really all I got, but I thought it was the craziest coincidence! I wish I would have known then, I totally would have peeked through the door.
